April in Review

After an extremely busy March there was a consistent level of properties captured by the team throughout April comparable to the same month the year before. Dusk shoots remain increasingly popular, these are now captured a lot earlier with daylight savings ending in Victoria at the start of April and the sunset time getting earlier as we change seasons. The advantage of having a large team of photographers is we are capable of capturing multiple properties each night to keep up with the high demand from our clients!

We welcomed two new staff members in April with Luke and Natalie joining the team. They both bring a wealth of experience and great enthusiasm to the roles and work completed so far. Welcome Luke and Natalie!

We work with several builders and love capturing the beautiful homes they create. The images can be used in a variety of ways by the builders; for advertising/marketing purposes on their website, showing different options to potential clients, or as standard real estate photos if the home is going to be for sale. Here are some recent images captured for Murray Wearne Builders, Homes by CDLS and Broadway Builders.

Product Insight - Virtual Tours

Virtual Tours are created using a 360 degree camera throughout the home which creates an interactive experience for the viewer allowing them to navigate their way through the property. We have two different Virtual Tour products available - a Matterport 3D Scan which captures the entire home and a standard Virtual Tour which can be used to just highlight specific rooms or areas. Virtual Tours have been around for many years and are a useful tool if you want to showcase a home without having people attend in person. Virtual Tours became increasingly popular during the COVID lockdowns of the last few years, but in a normal market most agents prefer to attract people to the property in person. As technology advances Virtual Tours will no doubt play a part in advertising campaigns in the future and they remain a great product for many situations today. Contact us to see how they could meet your needs and for any pricing enquiries.

Meet our photographer Nate

How long have you worked in real estate photography?

It’ll be 3 years this year!

What is your background in photography?

My journey in photography kicked off about four years ago as a School Portrait Photographer, where I got my first taste of capturing those memorable moments. But my love for photography goes way back to 2015 when I discovered the joy of photographing cars. Back then, it was all about using my phone and slapping on those Instagram filters for what I thought was extra flair. Finally got my hands on a DSLR in 2017 and never looked back.

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

In my downtime, which is pretty rare with four boys to keep up with, I enjoy squeezing in some family bike rides when the weather's nice, catching up on Formula One races, and getting in a game of basketball or soccer whenever I can.

What do you love most about your job?

The best part of my job is definitely getting to capture properties that are packed with unique details and styling. There's something truly special about finding the perfect angles to showcase those features and watching how light plays off them.

Favourite holiday destination?

I haven’t travelled much, but growing up, my family and I would take trips to Brazil every few years to visit relatives abroad. Now that I have my own family, our go-to holiday spot is Sydney. I’ve also had some memorable experiences in Albury, NSW.

Favourite Movie?

My favourite movie really depends on the time of year. During Christmas, my family and I love watching movies like The Grinch and Home Alone. When Halloween rolls around, it's all about the Tim Burton classics. But I've got a special place in my heart for the original Cars movie—I don't mind watching it on repeat when my boys are in the mood for it!

What’s your favourite TV Show?

At the moment, my fiancée and I are rewatching Suits, but I’m also happy to keep up with the current romance drama Tarah drags me into, last month we got hooked on Love is Blind.

What’s your favourite book?

I'm not much of a bookworm myself, but I do enjoy reading with my kids before bedtime. One of our favourites has been "I Saw Pete and Pete Saw Me" by Maggie Hutchings.

What music do you listen to?

My taste in music is a bit of everything. When I'm not jamming to hip-hop, I'm usually exploring the sounds of artists like Joji, Lewis Capaldi, Rex Orange County, or even indulging in some Frank Sinatra classics every now and then.

Podcast recommendation?

I'm hooked on The Matti Haapoja Podcast. While I haven't been much of a podcast listener, I'm naturally drawn to anything photography-related. Since I've watched a few of Matti's YouTube videos, his voice is familiar and comforting. I particularly enjoy hearing from the diverse range of guests he features on his podcasts.

Favourite food?

I'm pretty adventurous when it comes to food and love trying out new dishes. But if I had to pick a top favourite, it's gotta be butter chicken served with warm naan bread on the side. That combo just hits the spot every time!

Favourite restaurant?

My top pick has to be Fat Lulu's in St Kilda. It's got this cozy vibe that makes every meal feel like a special occasion. Plus, they serve up some awesome cocktails and offer bottomless pizzas, which is always a win in my book!

Drink of choice?

I'm a big fan of having a Coke with dinner — it's just a classic choice that hits the spot. While I'm not really into alcohol, I'll occasionally indulge in a Midori or Vodka when the mood strikes.
