October in Review
Following on from a busy September the team were even busier in October as we attended more properties than any month previously in our 12 year history! Along with the usual residential properties we were once again kept busy with many rural properties and land which are usually looking their best in Spring. Often this time of year we are called out to capture gardens and external shots in preparation for listings launching in the next few months. It always pays to be prepared so don’t hesitate to contact us to capture images of a property when it is looking it’s best!
Product Insight - Artist Impressions
If you want to advertise a new construction but it is not yet finished, we can provide realistic artist impressions (external or internal images) created from your building plans. All we need are the plans, colours/construction materials, and landscaping plans and we will take it from there. Feel free to reach out if you have any further questions or enquiries.
Meet our photographer Amy Bond
How long have you worked as a real estate photographer?
I actually started out in Real Estate Marketing back in 2004 which meant I was doing the photos, copy and ad management of the property marketing for a real estate agency I was working with. The aspect of the job I loved the most was the photography so I moved on to a real estate photography company to focus on that in 2008, so all up its been 19 years! Gee that makes me sound really old! I started working with Nathan back in 2015 and its been a terrific 8 years.
What is your background in photography?
I’ve always loved photography, I moved schools for my final 2 years of high school just so I could go to a school that had photography. I loved the smell of the darkroom and how images would appear as if by magic. They say you know you’re passionate about something when the hours just slip away unnoticed, and those hours in the dark room were many, but felt like seconds. Of course dark rooms are a lost art these days so I went on to study photography both in film and digital format afterwards. But I’ll always love the darkroom days.
What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
Well I do have a family who I love spending time with, but a lot of my spare time is dedicated to horse riding. It's a very demanding and time consuming sport and lifestyle, but its also a lot of fun and I love every minute of it.
What do you love most about your job?
So many things. I love all the agents I work with, its a bit of a solo job, but they end up feeling like friends and co-workers. I love the challenge of bringing out the best in every home and creating a first impression that will have other people excited to buy it. It's a big honour to have that responsibility, the family home is the biggest asset most people will ever have, and helping them to achieve the best result possible when selling it is something I feel is a worthy profession.
Favourite holiday destination?
Anywhere the air is warm and the sun is shining. I’m really not fussy, I’ll holiday just about anywhere!
Favourite book?
How to choose just one?!?! I’m an avid reader, sometimes consuming a book a week if Im on a roll. But if I had to narrow it down, I suppose the books I recommend to people most often would be Mornings in Jenin by Susan Abulhawa, The Bronze Horseman by Paullina SImons and The Power of One by Bryce Courtenay.
Favourite movie?
Again - how to choose one? As with books The Power of One, Anna Karenina (1997 version), The Piano, Nell, Fried Green Tomatoes, The Colour Purple (the books is also wonderful) & I am Sam
What music do you listen to?
I am equal opportunity when it comes to music, I love it all. You can get whiplash listening to my spotify list jumping from one genre to another. You can literally go from Prisoner of Society by The Living End to Pachelbel’s Canon in D Major. I also love to find little bands that are gems, such a NZ brother and sister duo The Broods or Australian outfits Running Touch and Boo Seeka. And I rarely say no to a concert, I love all music, but there is something special about seeing it live.
Favourite food?
I am pretty partial to asian cuisines, Thai, Vietnamese and Japanese are all at the top of my list.
Favourite restaurant?
Places with vegan options! We’re lucky to live in a part of the world that has an amazing reputation for food and good hospitality. If we go out to dinner its usually around the Brunswick/Fitzroy area because we’re guaranteed a great meal. Its a bit of a hike from where we live (rural vic) but it's always worth it.
Drink of choice?
In the AM it’s coffee, in the PM I do like a G&T
book. capture. deliver.
Capturing real estate in Victoria since 2011.
